Ees Wyke is an elegant and comfortable Georgian country house set on high ground in Near Sawrey, the home of Beatrix Potter, that nestles in the peaceful Vale of Esthwaite. Most rooms have stunning views across Esthwaite water and the fells beyond including the Langdale Pikes, Coniston Old Man and the fells and woodland of Grizedale Forest.
This is, and we are biased, the best side of Lake Windermere! There are many walks from the house from easy to slightly more challenging - Moss Eccles Tarn, Wray, Caiffe Heights and Latterbarrow to name a few. It is an ideal location from which to walk or tour the Lake District. Ees Wyke is easily found on the B5285 between Hawkshead and the Windermere ferry
Spacious, comfortable, accommodation is provided in eight rooms each equipped to meet the needs of the most demanding modern traveller. Sumptuous Lakeland breakfasts and a daily five course menu offers choice featuring much local produce. The cuisine and accommodation of Ees Wyke are recommended in both the Good Food and Good Hotel Guides. Comment and commendation may also be found in The Which? Hotel Guide and the Automobile Association where awards have been made for dinner and breakfast
